Peterculter

Hello! I wanted to share with you some pictures of our village and "normal" activities.

Here is where Jared got his haircut last week.  You can easily walk to it from our house.

This is the local beauty salon I'll be going too soon.  It's so cute!
Below are a few more shots of the village, including the local Kilt Rental.  I really hope to attend a formal event where Jared has to wear one of these with a suit jacket :)  It's like renting a tuxedo for Prom in the States. Girls will wear a sash, shoes, or shawl made of a matching Tartan as the boy's kilt.
I need to find the tartan of our surname.

We've really enjoyed walking on the Old Deeside Line on the weekends and after work.  In Victorian times, this paved trail was a railroad that the Royal Family would take to Balmoral Castle for the Summer. Now it's used for walking, biking, and horse riding.

Here are some pictures from our walk this morning. I really love this trail.

Also, I really enjoy our drive to Costco/Tesco for groceries - we pass  fields lined with stone walls and dotted with woolly sheep. It's a quite a charming trek to the grocery store.

Finally, by popular demand, here is Jared in our tiny Honda Jazz ;-)  Not exactly the same feeling you get driving a pick-up truck.....Jared's Jazz :-D

Short work week next week, then we're off to Paris on Thursday morning! Very excited to see lots of impressionist paintings and take in all the loveliness of the city.

Also, here's a little taste of a Scottish accent (there are many forms!).  This video is courtesy of my lovely Scottish colleagues! (Youtube - the weather forecast in Doric)

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!
